Terms of sale and use
Last updated 20 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy or use a product from mothersteader.com, which is run by Mothersteader LLC, a Montana limited liability company.
What you are buying
A license to use a digital product for your own household.
- Sheets, such as the Canning Pantry Sheet, are Google Sheets workbooks. You get your own copy in your own Google Drive, and an Excel copy where one is offered.
- The Canning Pantry app is a web app. You get a personal key that unlocks it on up to 3 of your own devices. The app shows who the key is licensed to. The full app is not on sale yet; the free key for 20 recipes works the same way.
- Printable products, such as The Canning Pantry Book, are PDF files, which you may print as often as you like for your household's use.
What the license does not cover
- Sharing, reselling or giving away your app key, your app link, the copy link to a Sheet, the files or printed copies outside your household.
- Copying the app or its recipe data into another app, site or product.
- Uploading the files to a shared site, group or marketplace.
- Using the files, or anything built from them, as part of a product you sell.
Co-ops, classrooms and groups that want copies for several families can write to [email protected] to ask about a group license.
Food safety
Mothersteader products help you plan, calculate and keep records. They are not a substitute for professional advice. The Canning Pantry Sheet, The Canning Pantry Book and the Canning Pantry app take every tested recipe, processing time and pressure from the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning (2015) and the National Center for Home Food Preservation, cites the source on each recipe, and the Sheet and the app work out which published figure applies to your elevation and canner. Where steps are written in plain language, each rewritten recipe was checked against its source with every figure unchanged. None of them invents, adjusts, rounds or corrects a tested figure, and none of them determines whether food is safe. The Canning Pantry plans and calculates. Your tested recipe decides the safety. Follow the tested source and your equipment manual. You are responsible for how you prepare, preserve and store food.
Your app key
Your Canning Pantry app key works on up to 3 devices at a time, and you can free a device yourself from the app. The app checks the key online about once a month and keeps working offline for up to 35 days between checks. If a purchase is refunded or a key is shared outside the household, the key may be switched off; the app then locks the paid recipes again but never deletes what you saved in it.
Animal and records products
Livestock, beekeeping and homeschool record products are organizing tools. They are not veterinary, legal or educational accreditation advice. Check your state's homeschool requirements and ask your veterinarian about animal health.
Payment
Checkout is provided by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and collects any sales tax or VAT due. Prices are in US dollars.
Full Library purchases
The Full Library is not on sale yet. When it opens, it will include every Sheet, guide and printable available when you buy it and every new one Mothersteader releases afterward, delivered by email to the address used at checkout. The Canning Pantry app is not part of the Full Library or any bundle. If Mothersteader ever stops making new products, you keep everything you have already received.
Refunds
See the refund policy.
Limits of liability
Products are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, Mothersteader LLC's total liability for any claim about a product is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, United States.
